Workshop: Internationalisation Challenges

13.10.2016 | Berlin

In order to identify the main challenges of Israeli entrepreneurs when opening up a subsidiary office in Germany, the German Startups Association organized an exchange with representatives from Israeli startups that already internationalized to Germany.

The workshop took place on Thursday, 13th of October, from 10AM to 12PM at the office of the German Startups Association (Haus der Bundespressekonferenz, Schiffbauerdamm 40, 10117 Berlin) followedby a networking-lunch. The workshop was moderated by GISEP ambassador Dr. Katy Ritzmann.

The workshop confirmed that Israeli startups are looking at Germany as a starting point for further expansion within the European market. In this context, Germany is particularly interesting due to the B-2-B opportunities with German SMEs (the “Mittelstand”) as well as the German OEMs.

Navigating the German bureaucracy as well as the language barrier have been stressed as common challenges.
