Tanja Hutt is the Head of the Economic and Commercial Section of the German Embassy in Tel Aviv. Since August 2015 she has been promoting business and trade relations between Israel and Germany with a special focus on innovation and high-tech in the “Start-up Nation”.


With the support of her team and in close cooperation with the Israeli-German Chamber of Commerce she brings politicians, government officials and entrepreneurs from both countries together and helps them to gain a mutual understanding of business opportunities and benefits.


As a diplomat in the German Foreign Service she has served in Shanghai, Mumbai and Mexico-City as well as in the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin in various positions.


She is a graduate of the Academy of the Federal Foreign Office and holds an academic degree in public administration.


Thanks to her professional and private experiences in countries like China, India and Mexico, Tanja is a true “wanderer” between cultures and loves to bring the best of different minds and ideas together. Her goal in Israel is to combine German productivity and market orientation with Israeli ingenuity and boldness in order to face the challenges of tomorrow.
