Project A Ventures

Uwe Horstmann is founding partner at Berlin-based venture capital fund Project A, where he is responsible for the areas of product management, internationalization, and deal flow for co-founding projects and seed stage deals.


Before co-founding Project A, he worked for Rocket Internet (known for eDarling, Zalando, and CityDeal|Groupon) since its founding in 2007; from 2009 to 2012 as managing director. In serving with the United Nations in Africa, he discovered his passion for humanitarian logistics and now serves as a strategic consultant for the development organization Oxfam.


Uwe studied business administration at the WHU Vallendar, where he is a regular lecturer on entrepreneurship. In the same subject, he is pursuing a PhD at the RWTH Aachen. Moreover, Uwe is a judge in business plan competitions held by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and “Young Leader” at Atlantik Brücke e.V. In January 2016, Uwe Horstmann was named to the “30Under30 Europe” list created by Forbes Magazine, featuring 300 young innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders across Europe.
