The German Embassy in Israel, together with several partners from Israel and Germany organized the Smart Village Challenge: a startup pitch competition on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the state of Israel.

 

While “Smart City” is already a well-defined term with known opportunities, the emerging “Smart Village” sector holds a significant promise. With the maturing digitalization, there is an equal opportunity waiting to be explored and capitalized. The goal is to increase the social and economic value in rural Europe.

 

Who could apply?  Entrepreneurs with a startup (from the idea stage to round B) that addresses the “Smart Village” challenge.

 

The prize: Participation at the “Startup Night” in Berlin (including flight & accommodation). The GISEP will arrange an individual program for the winners during their visit to Germany in addition to free office space at Merkspace for three months.
