Elaborations by Tobias Wedler, startup enthusiast and regional coordinator for lower Saxony at German Startups Association

3-Sentence Pitch on the local Startup Ecosystem

Niedersachsen is home to 12% of all German startups (including the startups’ hubs Hannover and Oldenburg) and has an excellent startup infrastructure. Two of Germany`s most enterprise-friendly universities and internationally renowned research institutes are based here. Furthermore, established industries like mobility (e.g. Volkswagen), finance (e.g. Hannover Rück, Talanx), agriculture (Claas, Amazone, Krone) and energy (Enercon, Avacon) include leading companies that are internationally active and support the global exchange of Niedersachsen. Every year the key players in economy and startup scene meet at the international fairs in Hannover (Hannover Messe, Agritechnica, CEBIT).

Moreover, regional startup centers support entrepreneurs in Niedersachsen, close to the universities and sector-focused.
